On June 14, St. Louis Public School celebrated the first year of the Michif Early Language Acquisition Program for our PreK/K class.  The event was well attended and gave us a chance to spend some time with our families around our tables eating traditional foods, such as boullettes ay lii beignes (meatballs and fried bannock), and hearing feedback about the class.  There were many cultural activities for families to participate in and we had our resources available for preview.  The highlight of the evening was the jigging performance and Michif song performed by the students to show us a small sample of what they have learned over the year.  We would also like to acknowledge the participation of Sophie McDougall, Sonny Vandale and Doris McDougall, our Elders and Knowledge Keepers.  Our program has had a great start and we are excited to be moving into our second year.
