Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division celebrates National Indigenous Peoples Day with many learning and celebration events. We know that Indigenous peoples have made invaluable contribution to this country and continue to play a strong role in shaping our present and our future. Too often, we do not recognize the strength and resilience of Indigenous peoples who have survived oppression and discrimination and we neglect to make the effort to make reconciliation a reality.
First Nations, Metis and Inuit people have a unique heritage and bring diverse cultures that strengthen our world. National Indigenous Peoples Day is a great opportunity to celebrate and learn about Indigenous cultures, and a good time to reflect and plan for how each of us will contribute to reconciliation over the next year. Please join the celebrations in Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division and around the community!
