We are fortunate in SRPSD to have a great mix of city, small town, reserve community and rural students in our classrooms so Agriculture Literacy Month provides an opportunity to bring into focus the important role that farmers, ranchers and other members

Schools in the Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division joined with thousands across the country and the Red Cross to celebrate the Pink Day 2018. We are united in opposing bullying behaviour and standing up for respect and kindness towards others.  

Westview Celebrates Family Literacy

Recently Westview Public School hosted a Family Literacy Evening where staff, students and families joined together to celebrate literacy.  Participants enjoyed a delicious chili supper and had fun learning at 12 literacy stations with hands on activities for parents and children to do together. Family Literacy Day is January 27, 2018

The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed Saturday, January 27, 2018 as Family Literacy Day in Saskatchewan. Family Literacy Day is a national initiative held every year to raise awareness of the importance of reading and engaging in literacy-related activities as a family.  This will be the 20th year Family Literacy Day is proclaimed in Saskatchewan.

PAGC Supports Student Learning

Thank you to the Prince Albert Grand Council who enabled students from Wesmor Public High School to learn from Mr. Darrell McCallum, the Treaty Educator for PAGC’s Department of Education.  The students viewed a presentation in the executive board room which detailed the Treaties in Saskatchewan,  and the governance structure of the Prince Albert Grand

Conversation and Information Sharing

Healthy Relationships in Youth

A huge thank you to the Red Cross for facilitating the Healthy Relationships in Youth training seminar.  Big River Public High School hosted staff and grade 7-12 students from Shellbrook, Riverside, Spiritwood and Big River for 2 days of fantastic training. The seminar helped teens gain in depth knowledge and skills to develop healthy relationships,

“Shop with a Cop”

On December 14th, local students including some from John Diefenbaker, W J Berezowsky, Princess Margaret and Riverside Public Schools took part in the local “Shop with a Cop” event.  Students and Police Officers spent the lunch hour shopping at Canadian Tire and having lunch together at McDonalds.  Watching our students spend time with an officer

Generous Alumni Makes $100,000 Donation to Birch Hills Public School

Birch Hills Public School, and the entire Saskatchewan Rivers School Division, are amazed and grateful at the generosity of a Birch Hills School alumni who recently stopped by the school with a check for $100,000. This is a private donation from a former student of the school.  The donor, who prefers to remain anonymous, made
