March 2018 has once again been proclaimed as Agriculture Literacy Month in Saskatchewan. We are fortunate in SRPSD to have a great mix of city, small town, reserve community and rural students in our classrooms so Agriculture Literacy Month provides an opportunity to bring into focus the important role that farmers, ranchers and other members of the agriculture industry provide in our world. There are opportunities in elementary and high school classrooms to learn about and discuss agricultural role models and experiences. The theme of “Our Food. Our Story” discussion can include topics related to food production, land stewardship, careers, and others. Agriculture is an important part of our province both socially and economically and March 2018 is a great time to explore the topic within SRPSD classrooms and schools.
