September 8, 2023, is Literacy Day in Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division celebrates its commitment to student achievement. We believe that Literacy is the focus that connects all our good work together. Literacy begins with the fundamental acquisition of skills in reading, writing, listening, speaking, viewing, representing, and mathematics. It becomes the ability of all students to think, apply, and communicate effectively in all subject and program areas in a variety of ways and purposes. Literacy is a key part of Saskatchewan curricula and an important skill for everyone that opens doors to employment, better social and health outcomes, and active participating in society.
