The week of February 7th-11th was French-Second-Language Education Week in Saskatchewan. The theme this year was “From the classroom to the stars! Dream. Act. Realize.” “De la classe aux étoiles! Rêver. Agir. Réaliser.” It is a chance to celebrate the growing number of Saskatchewan families recognizing the value of French language education in our schools. During this week, École Arthur Pechey Public School had the opportunity to taste maple candy from Quebec, go skating, learn about the Fransaskois flag, watch a French movie, play games in French, and practice weaving Métis style. We also enjoyed playing virtual BINGO school-wide with Superintendent Michaud calling the numbers! This year we tried something fun and new – maple snow cones! We are so excited to celebrate French culture at Arthur Pechey!
