As you know, Meath Park Public School suffered a fire Thursday, October 20th, 2016 that caused extensive damage to a canteen/gym/changeroom area of the school. The smoke and water used to extinguish the fire also made its way throughout the building causing more damage. Staff and students responded quickly and carefully to ensure that everyone evacuated safely and then several fire departments worked to extinguish the fire.
The SRPSD Board of Education appreciates the extraordinary efforts of staff, students, and families to respond to this difficult situation and make it as positive as possible. We are dedicated to provide Excellence for Every Learner and are working to minimize disruption to learning this fire has created. Together with the support of students, parents and the community we will continue to move forward to provide the best possible learning opportunities for our students.
