May 5th is Red Dress Day and the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two Spirit People (MMIWG2S). The Red Dress project was created by Métis artist Jamie Black in 2010.
School communities throughout SRPSD are raising awareness through classroom projects, school wide initiatives, and their social media pages. Today everyone is encouraged to educate yourself and others and hold space for the families, communities and victims.
Let us never forget the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two Spirit People.
