Intended Audience:

IEC’s- All Schools

Purpose:

The purpose of the day is to gain an understanding of the newly revised IIP format, with an emphasis on strength-based planning. We will explore how the updated IIP framework shifts the focus from deficit-based to strength-based approaches, promoting student engagement, growth, and success.
We will provide:
• An overview of the key changes in the new IIP format, including structure, required components, and documentation expectations.
• Practical strategies for identifying and leveraging student strengths to drive intervention planning and goal setting.
• Tools and templates for developing personalized, student-centered plans that align with inclusive education practices.
• Examples that illustrate how strength-based planning can improve outcomes and relationships.
• Collaborative opportunities to co-create plans using student profiles.

The morning will be spent going over the new IIP format and strength-based goals (required for all IIPs in the 2025-2026 school year) and the afternoon will be planning time with the opportunity to work on, collaborate about, and write IIPs. IECs can go back to their buildings for the afternoon if they choose or if necessary.
