The City of Prince Albert recently played host to 32 high school curling teams from the province. The event was co-hosted by Meath Park Public School curling team. This was our 7th year of hosting the bonspiel which is called the Christmas Curling Classic. Curlers are treated to a t-shirt, 4-5 games, and some great high school memories during the two day event at the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club. This year we had teams from as far away as Meadow Lake, Rosetown, and Strasbourg. Our local SRPSD teams from Carlton, Shellbrook, St. Louis and Meath Park all had very successful weekends. The event is a unique opportunity for curling teams to get together early in the season and enjoy friendly competition. Many regional and provincial curling teams have attended the bonspiel in the past 7 years and we look forward to hosting more in 2017!
