As you may know, French as a Second Language Week was the week of February 6th.  The theme of the week this year was ‘Bilingualism, a celebration to share!’.

As a way to celebrate our bilingualism and to build community among our French Immersion students and schools, a ‘Carnival d’hiver’ was held on Thursday, February 9th at Carlton Comprehensive High School!  French Immersion students from Debden, Arthur Pechey and Vickers participated in winter sports, crafts, music and cultural activities organized by Mme Morton and Carlton’s French Immersion students, all in French! We have to say a huge thank you to all of the partnerships that made this event possible. Thank you to the staff and students of Carlton, the FIPAC (French Immersion Program Advisory Committee), AJF (l’Association Jeunesse Fransaskoise), la SCFPA (Société Canadienne Francophone de Prince Albert), Conexus Credit Union and Tim Hortons. Merci beaucoup!
