Intended Audience:

 Kindergarten – grade 9 classroom teachers, Arts-Ed specialists, in-school coaches

 

Purpose:

Participants will have the opportunity to explore and take part in expressive arts activities that they can take back to their school environments.  Connections to curriculum, Indigenous perspectives and mental health will be made to help teachers with alignment.  A variety of mediums will be explored including fish scales, felting, caribou tufting, plasticine, coloured pencils, poetry and storytelling.

 

Learning Intentions:

Participants will be exposed to a variety of expressive arts activities that connects with curricular outcomes. Participants will understand the overarching application of expressive arts for use in their school environments.

 

Success Criteria:

Participants will leave with ideas of how to incorporate expressive arts into their own classroom/school settings.
