Schools are open and staff are making the final preparations for another great school year.  Teachers and staff often begin preparing for the new school year even before the last one finishes, and this week they were putting the finishing touches on the plans for 2019-20.  We are a great group of learners and these last few days before students arrived provide opportunities for staff to reconnect with each other, share learning opportunities and finalizes plans to reach our goals with students.

Staff spend time learning from TED Talk experts, working on plans for literacy achievement in math, writing, reading and other subject areas, and reviewing strategies for building relationships and engaging students and families.  They also spent time reviewing plans and processes for a smooth start-up when students arrive and that includes the maintenance and caretaking staff ensuring work is done so schools are ready.

The first day of classes for Grade 1-12 is Tuesday September 3 while PreK and Kindergarten classes have a special schedule for start-up.  Please contact your SRPSD school for details.

It is going to be a great year!
