Thank you to the Prince Albert Grand Council who enabled students from Wesmor Public High School to learn from Mr. Darrell McCallum, the Treaty Educator for PAGC’s Department of Education. The students viewed a presentation in the executive board room which detailed the Treaties in Saskatchewan, and the governance structure of the Prince Albert Grand Council. Vice Chief Christopher Jobb also spoke about the significance of learning about treaties, as well as, the Residential School experience here in Prince Albert. Vice Chief Jobb also stressed the responsibility for our youth, who are educated in treaties, to share this information with their elders and open up dialogue in order to create a path to reconciliation. The students were empowered by this notion that they have knowledge they can pass on to their families and communities.
