SRPSD is excited to celebrate St. Louis Public School’s Elizabeth Pala who is one of a select group of youth across the province who have been selected to the Minister of Education’s Youth Council.  Members of the provincial Youth Council work directly with the Minister of Education and other government officials to identify issues and topics important to them and their peers. These areas of interest will drive future discussion and provide insight for the vision of education in Saskatchewan. This is a significant honour as there were over 50 amazing youth in contention after the first phase of selection and Elizabeth was one of the 12 who were selected.

Elizabeth has been a volunteer in her community for years and has volunteered at the local Retirement Home, River’s Edge, and at the local greenhouse. In school, Elizabeth is currently the president of her school’s Student Council and is determined to bring a focus onto mental health, an issue she is very passionate about, while providing many different events for the diverse population of the school.  She was also recently elected by the Saskatchewan Rivers Students for Change group to represent students on the school Board as an official Student Trustee.

SRPSD is proud to have Elizabeth representing youth in the province on the Minister’s Youth Council and thankful that her parents, community and school have supported her and provided opportunities for her growth.  Congratulations Elizabeth!
