Over the course of their two-day workshop\, ASIST participants learn to: \n·         Understand the ways that personal and societal attitudes affect views on suicide and interventions. \n·         Provide guidance and suicide first aid to a person at risk in ways that meet their individual safety needs. \n·         Identify the key elements of an effective suicide safety plan and the actions required to implement it. \n·         Appreciate the value of improving and integrating suicide prevention resources in the community at large. \n  \nCriteria:  \nASIST is an interactive workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to improve skills and readiness to reach in and start a conversation with a person that may have thoughts of suicide. Each assessment day has a designated number of substitutes available\, ensuring that we don’t exceed capacity and cause shortages in schools. \n  \n·        The principal will arrange for substitute teacher(s) on the day(s) they have registered. \n  \n·        The principal informs their secretary that they have made these bookings so that the secretary can follow the ‘Entering Time for Additional Sub Teachers & EAs’ document to ensure the sub is paid correctly. \n  \n·        The secretary will enter the Sub time as ‘Extra-No Absent Emp-Curriculum’. \n  \n  \n \n\n\nRegister for: Assessment June 9\, 2025 \n \nClick Here To Register \n  \n \n\n\n  \n*NO leave forms will be completed for Assessment Days. \n
