Suzy is very relaxed\, she will provide teachings during each round\, but you can ask questions before and between rounds.  You can as individuals bring tobacco and cloth if you would like to ask for something.  Some of the things people ask for when they attend are healing for themselves or loved ones\, guidance\, clarity\, etc. \n  \nElder Suzy Bear’s – Muskoday First Nation. Take highway #3 south-east (towards Birch Hills/Melfort)  When you see the old Muskoday convenience store on the North side of the highway\, there is a right hand turning land\, take that and turn right (opposite side from the store).  Drive about 4km on the grid road until you see a sign that says MJ Bear\, turn right there and as soon as you turn right\, turn left.  When you come around the corner\, you will see Suzy’s house.  It is yellow and bi-level.  If you get lost\, you can text Theresa at 306-960-2006.\n\n\nFor workshop information contact:  306-764-1571 \nDeadline for Registration:  August 24\, 2026 \nRegistration will only be accepted through online registration \nMaximum Participants: 17 \nClick Here To Register \nWorkshop Name:  Sweat Ceremony \nComplete “Request for Leave” Form: (please check one): \n  \n☒ Meetings – Other

DESCRIPTION:  \nDedicating Time \n(Visual Arts Session)\n              Approved by: \n  \n  \n Jennifer Hingley Superintendent of Schools\n\n\nAttendance: \n☐Expected \n☒Invitation \nNotes:\nSub Covered by: \nPLC Day – No sub required \n  Mileage Covered by Division\nLunch: \n☒On your own \n☐Provided \n \n\n\nDate: August 28\, 2026 \nTime: 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. \nLocation: Carlton (b204) \nFacilitator: Melanie Mirasty \nBring: A yoga mat to sit on\n  \nIntended Audience: High School Visual Arts Teachers \n  \n  \n \n\n\nDedicating Time is a simple arts-based professional development session that combines creativity\, reflection\, and mindfulness. Participants will experience a three-step process that can easily be adapted for classroom use. \nStep 1: Visual Arts Activity \nParticipants will create a simple mixed-media canvas. Using white paint and one additional colour\, they will paint a sky background and add a black power line or tree branch. Small stones will be used to create birds\, which will later represent people or communities that have influenced and supported them. \nStep 2: Sharing Circle (Sharing who their birds are dedicated to) \nOnce the artwork is complete\, participants will take part in a sharing circle and reflect on the people\, relationships\, teachings\, or communities represented by the birds on their canvas. This models a classroom strategy for building connection\, gratitude\, and belonging. \nStep 3: Loving-Kindness Meditation \nThe session will conclude with a guided Loving-Kindness Meditation\, where participants will extend wishes of health\, happiness\, peace\, and well-being to themselves\, their loved ones\, and their communities. \nLearning Outcomes \nParticipants will: \n\nExperience a simple visual arts project that encourages reflection and storytelling.\nLearn how to facilitate a dedication and sharing-circle activity in the classroom.\nExplore a mindfulness practice that promotes gratitude\, compassion\, and community connection.\n\n \n\n\nDeadline for Registration: August 26 – midnight \nMaximum Participants: 25 \nRegister for: Dedicating Time-08-28-2026 \nFor workshop information contact: \nStacey Monette 764-1571\nClick Here To Register \n  \nResources and snacks are based on registration numbers\, you MUST register with the link above.\n\n\n  \nComplete “Request for Leave” Form: \nCurriculum (CURR)
